Terms of Service
After Magnum Academic Editing makes changes to your document, you are free to make further amendments. Thus, Magnum Proofreading retains no rights to and holds no responsibility for any part of any published work it has edited.
Magnum Academic Editing has the right to deny service to a customer or to cancel a customer’s order for any reason without notice.
Payments
The rates provided on magnumproofreading.com are given in Canadian dollars. You will be able to pay your fee in whatever currency you like, though you may be charged a currency conversion fee.
Fees are based on the word count of your document, which is verified by Magnum Academic Editing after you place your order. It is strongly advised that you confirm that the word count determined by Magnum Academic Editing is correct before making your payment. By making your payment, you express your agreement that the word count provided by Magnum Academic Editing is correct.
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations should be requested by sending an email to jakemagnum@magnumproofreading.com. Your email should include your order number and clearly express your wish to cancel your order. Your order will be canceled immediately upon reception of this email.
After canceling your order, you will have part of your payment refunded, as outlined below:
If any part of your project has been proofread before you cancel, you will be refunded a percentage of your payment equal to the unedited portion of your project (e.g., if you paid $400.00 and only 25% of your document was proofread, you would be refunded $300.00). You will also be sent your partially proofread document
If less than 10% of your document has been proofread when you cancel, you will have 90% of your payment refunded.
Completed Projects
Customer satisfaction is extremely important to me. As such, all editing is backed by a satisfaction guarantee—if you are not fully satisfied with the service you are provided, you may request a free additional round of editing.
To receive an additional round of proofreading, please send an email to jakemagnum@magnumproofreading.com that specifies how your service failed to meet your expectations. All claims of this nature must be made within 90 days of your receipt of your proofread document.
Please note that no refunds will be issued for completed projects under any circumstances.
Customer Privacy Policy
Information Collected by Magnum Academic Editing
The only pieces of personal information you need to provide when placing an order are your name and email address, as well as any other personal details included in the document itself. Your personal information is never shared with any third parties.
Documents submitted by Magnum Academic Editing's customers are never shared with anyone.
Magnum Academic Editing keeps electronic copies of customers’ invoices on file indefinitely for tax and audit purposes.
Magnum Academic Editing retains electronic copies of customers’ documents and emails after a project has been completed in case of disputes. If you do not want your document to be retained, Magnum Academic Editing will honor your request. However, upon making this request, you waive any right to dispute the service provided by Magnum Academic Editing and cannot take advantage of Magnum Academic Editing's satisfaction guarantee, as outlined under "Completed Projects" above.
Magnum Academic Editing never makes physical copies of customers’ information, documents, or emails.
Payment Information
All payments to Magnum Academic Editing are processed through either PayPal or Ascend Invoicing. As such, Magnum Academic Editing does not see or handle any of its customers' payment information, such as credit card numbers and bank account data.
Security Policy
The system on which Magnum Academic Editing operates is protected by a regularly-updated firewall.
Magnum Academic Editing operates on a secure internet connection that is not accessible to the public. Magnum Academic Editing never operates on public internet connections.
Magnum Academic Editing’s website and any information shared by its customers are kept private by SSL-certified security.
Membership Policy
After you apply to become a member and make your initial deposit of CA$299.99, a credit of CA$399.99 will be attached to your email address. After paying your membership fee, you will pay $0.00 for all your orders until you have received $399.99 worth of editing, as the fee will be deducted from your credit. Once your creditruns out, you may continue to take advantage of the reduced rates available through Magnum Academic Editing's members-only order form for as long as you like.
Note that the $299.99 deposit is not refundable under any circumstances.
You may share your membership with your friends and colleagues. Current members may provide any additional names and email addresses that they would like attached to their account by email.
The password required to access the members-only order form may change occasionally. New passwords will be sent out via email.
